As far as we know the directions below are correct as posted. Roads and exit numbers can change and there could be errors. Some details are provided that are not provided by MapQuest, Google, Yahoo, etc. You may wish to compare the results from them with what is shown below. Please advise us of any needed updates.

I-684 Hutchinson River Parkway Route NYC/NJ I-95 Route

I-684 Route
  • Take I-287E to Exit 9a for I-684.
  • Take I-684 North to Brewster NY and then I-84 East to Exit 28 in Southington for I-691 East.
  • Take I-691 East about 8 miles to Exit 10 in Meriden for I-91 North.
  • Take I-91 North to Wethersfield, Exit 25N, for CT Route 3 North (Putnam Bridge).
  • Cross the CT River on Route 3 North into Glastonbury, but avoid the first exit for Main St.
  • Route 3 will end almost immediately. Take the right fork by onto CT Route 2 East (Norwich/New London).
  • Force yourself over to the left lane within the first 0.5 mi for Exit 7.
  • Take Exit 7 (a left exit) off Route 2 East onto CT Route 17 South - (South Glastonbury/Portland). You are now about 4 miles from South Mill Village.
  • Route 17 will change from a divided highway to a two lane road.
  • Follow Route 17 South about 3 miles to the first traffic signal where it rejoins Main Street at Buttonball Lane just north of #1420 Main Street. Avoid the exits for Glastonbury Center, New London Turnpike and Hubbard Street.
  • Follow Route 17 South/Main Street about 0.5 mile to the traffic signal with Chestnut Hill Road and Red Hill Drive.
  • Follow Route 17 South/Main Street about 0.5 mile to the traffic signal with Hopewell Road at the north end of South Glastonbury Center by the Main & Hopewell restaurant.
  • Follow Route 17 South/Main Street through South Glastonbury Center. At the traffic signal where CT Route 160 goes off to the right for the ferry, go straight ahead.
  • Pass the restaurant on your left and make the first left onto South Mill Drive into South Mill Village.
  • Overshot Drive addresses are reached by going nearly to the top of the hill and turning right on Overshot.

Hutchinson River Parkway Route
  • Take I-287E to Exit 9 for the Hutchinson River Parkway
  • Take the Hutchinson River Parkway in NY to the Merritt Parkway in CT (CT15 North)
  • Follow the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkways (CT15N) to Meriden, CT (Exit 67)
  • Get on I-91 North in Meriden.
  • Take I-91 North to Wethersfield, Exit 25N, for CT Route 3 North (Putnam Bridge).
  • Cross the CT River on Route 3 North into Glastonbury, but avoid the first exit for Main St.
  • Route 3 will end almost immediately. Take the right fork by onto CT Route 2 East (Norwich/New London).

  • Take I-95 North (New England Thruway) to New Haven.
  • Get on I-91 North (left exit) in New Haven
