Useful Hints

Monthly Hints
January
Holiday trees will be picked up curbside during the first two weeks in January. A notice will be sent to all residents. Please do not place them curbside except on these two days because they get in the way of snow removal.
February
For every complaint about too much sand on the roads and walks, there is another complaint about not enough sand. For liability reasons, we always error slightly toward too much sand, and hope to please most of the neighbors
March
Roof and gutter cleaning is an Association responsibility. Please do not do this yourself because you may damage the roof, gutter, and yourself.
April
Firewood stored outside after April 15th will be removed. You are discouraged form storing it in your garage because it attracts varmints and other guests.
May
The Association landscaper will clean, edge, and mulch all foundation landscape beds just prior to Memorial Day. Homeowner installed annual flower plants should not be installed until after the mulching is completed.
June
Lawn watering season begins. It is best to water early in the morning and at regular intervals.
July
Lawn watering in the evening preceding hot nights can lead to fungus and disease buildup on the thatch. So it is best to water early in the morning.
August
Lawn watering in the evening preceding hot nights can lead to fungus and disease buildup on the thatch. So it is best to water early in the morning.
September
Firewood may be neatly stacked on your deck or patio for winter use after September 15th. Firewood in your garage attracts mice and snakes into your home, and maybe your neighbor's.
October
Remove any remaining annual and or perennial plants you may have placed out earlier in the year. Please dispose of them in your trash barrel. Winterize outdoor water spigots by turning the inside valve off opening the small air vent on the side of the interior valve, and draining the water from the valve. Be sure to close the small air vent when the pipe is dry.
November
Holiday decorations will be provided for the entire community. Your personal decorations are limited by Association rules and regulations. Important note: Indoor storage of propane tanks is a violation of Connecticut law.
December
During snow removal season, as a courtesy to our snow removal crews, please do not put trash barrels out until Tuesday morning and keep as many vehicles garaged at all times as possible.
